In the McManus’ home, windows were broken out and window
wells destroyed. The HVAC systems,
water heaters, and automobiles no longer work. Shawn’s
vehicle may be a complete loss and it was
in an enclosed garage. Yards, outdoor swing sets,
trampolines, fencing, and sprinkler systems were
also destroyed. In the aftermath of what remains, large
boulders, trees, and other objects are left
to be removed from what was part of the family’s outdoor
living spaces, all of this at the individual
homeowner’s expense.
